Dennis Burton, Ph.D
Founder and Chief Scientific Advisor
Dennis Burton is Chairman and a Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Science at the Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, U.S.). He is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the University of Lund, Sweden. Dennis has held many research grants from the NIH and he has published more than 461 peer-reviewed publications in top-ranked journals.

His research is focused on infectious disease, in particular the interplay of antibodies and highly mutable viruses, notably HIV. His work has resulted in 23 patents.

Dennis has a dedicated interest in the potential of broadly neutralizing antibodies to inform vaccine design. He received his B.A. in Chemistry from Oxford University and his Ph.D. from the University of Lund in physical biochemistry.
